Pignon has five bakeries, all of which produce the same uncooked, tasteless flatbread. With no mixing equipment and few ingredients to create interesting products, this is the only bread the community has access to. J4H will be introducing a bakery with a new variety of baked breads and goods for the people to purchase and enjoy.

Construction on J4H's bakery in Pignon, Haiti has begun. Scroll through our pictures below to see the progress being made on this project!

Update as of April 22, 2019: Bakery construction began in late 2017/early 2018. However, midway through the construction project in October 2018, a minor earthquake hit Haiti which compromised the structure of the building. This hindered further progress in construction as sections of the bakery required rebuilding.

As of April 2019, J4H has finished rebuilding from the earthquake damage. With a new influx of funds, Jobs4Haiti began further construction on the bakery once again. Slowly but surely, progress is being made on this project. Check out the pictures below to see recent developments in this construction effort!
